Being asked “what is sex?” by my 6-year-old did not scare me. Some of the possible answers did. There’s sex that makes a baby and sex that makes the headlines. Sex that makes me blush and sex that makes me cringe. Sex that we feel and sex that’s just anatomy. And then there’s sexual abuse.
What kids may want to know about sex is very different from what kids need to know about sex.
This book is my answer to the burning question. It’s about a fundamentally not-terrible thing that is experienced, in some way, by everyone.
